Extravagant Love

Why did a sinful woman show extravagant love for Jesus while a respected Pharisee remained reserved and critical? In Luke 7:36–50, Jesus tells a story about two debtors to reveal the difference: those who understand how desperately they need forgiveness respond with deep love for the One who forgives them. This passage reminds us that we are all debtors who cannot pay—and points us to the extraordinary grace of Jesus, who forgives sinners who come to Him in faith.
