Earlier this week, several members of our church family received emails from someone claiming to be Pastor Jeremy McMorris asking for financial assistance in the form of gift cards.
This, unfortunately, is a scam.
Please know that neither Pastor Jeremy nor any other member of the Paramount staff will ever ask for money, gift cards, or wire transfers through email, text, phone call, or direct message on social media.
In this age of advanced artificial intelligence, it’s easier than ever to appear to be someone you are not. Fraudsters and scammers are using this technology to take advantage of kindhearted people – like members of our Paramount family. We need to remain alert and careful to avoid becoming a victim.
If you know other members of our Paramount family who do not regularly check email or social media, please share this important information with them. We want to do everything we can to prevent anyone from falling for this devious scam.
